Army Gear

I know most of us wives are all about sporting Army gear, especially while our husbands are away. I probably have way more Army gear than I need, but you can never have enough! I've decided to fill you in on a few different things that I have that I absolutely love!

Hero On My Arm
Almost every day I have someone at my university or at the grocery store ask me where I got my bag. I have a Hero On My Arm purse, and I carry it everywhere with me to show how proud I am of my husband. I have the Abigal bag in the medium size, which ended up slightly larger than I wanted it, but it's not too large that it looks ridiculous.  I sent in my husband's ACU top, and in about 6 weeks, I got my amazing bag in the mail. All you do is add the bag style to your cart after choosing what camo pattern and lining you want, then you go to Nametapes and Patches and add any nametapes and patches to your cart (although I used my husband's extra ones). There are also Purse Extras like picture pockets and flower pins. Then you check out, send his uniform in, and hurry up and wait! Because it's the actual top, I can change rank and unit patches, and the name tapes, as well as pin on his CAB. You can also order your purse with a used or new uniform provided by the company if you don't have one to send in. However, I'm not sure if it's the same if it's not his uniform. That's what makes this bag special.

My bag! Unit patches are on the sides, just like they would be on his shoulders. All pockets still open!
Bands For Arms
So B4A (Click HERE for the actual store) is probably my favorite military accessory out there, mainly because the organization is just amazing in their support for our military. They sell bracelets, all handmade from used soldier's uniforms. They have our contemporary uniforms, and even make bracelets out of WWII and Vietnam era uniforms. There are tons of different styles, and they're relatively cheap. I paid $5 for the one I have now, which is just the standard ACU bracelet that I personalized by writing our name on it. What's best about this company is that their proceeds go to military organizations, mainly the USO. They just finished a tour at USO's all over the world, which they wrote all about on their Facebook page. Soldiers of all different branches in all different countries hand-make these bracelets during downtime. Not only are the uniforms from soldiers, but they are made by soldiers. You can't get any closer to the heart of our military. Also, each bracelet you get comes with a card in it that tells you the name, service, and location of the soldier who wore the uniform from which your bracelet was made.

"The David" (ironically my husband's name) is the one I got!
I plan on getting this one soon :)

Tervis Tumbler
I don't know if you've been exposed to the joys of Tervis Tumbler yet, but they are just awesome. These cups have a lifetime warranty, come in hundreds of cool designs, and have a double shell to keep cold drinks cold and hot drinks hot. I have four and plan on replacing the entirety of my cup collection with Tumblers. They usually range for $12-20 per cup w/ lid (make sure to purchase a matching lid, too!), but when you consider they have a lifetime guarantee, it's totally worth it! They have entire collection of patriotic Tumblers. My first Tumbler, the one below, was given to me as a gift by my husband's Aunt, and I fell in love. I now I have a cherry blossom one (for my tattoo), a Hawaii themed one, and a Fiesta-ware one. They come in all different sizes, 8 oz., 10 oz., 12 oz., a 15. oz coffee mug, 16 oz. and 24 oz. (like the one below). There is an American Pride collection which has all the military branches. They also have numerous accessories like mug handles, straws, and tumbler kits to make mixed drinks with! If you sign up for emails, you'll get a 10% of your first purchase code to thank you for joining!

My first cup!
Shutterfly Photo Books
I made this awesome book for my husband to chronicle the first year of our relationship (which was pre-wedding). It makes for a great "coffee table book" that we'll be able to show our kids one day. They will get to see how Mommy & Daddy met and fell in love. I did this as a birthday present, and he absolutely loved having it to look through when I couldn't be with him. They have all different sizes, hardback and glossy paperback, and once you get the hang of it, they aren't too hard to design. They also make greeting cards, photo prints, posters, and so forth. I get coupon codes (like for 100 free prints or 20% off a photo book) like, once a week. So it always turns out pretty cheap!! This is also a great alternative to the wedding photo album where the pictures fall out or have to be put in opposite of orientation.
